Fast Freddie Races for the Bay Area's Junior Cyclists

Freddie Rodriguez to conduct motivational session in Mill Valley

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - As a kid did you ever wish for the opportunity to prove yourself in front of an international sporting hero? Bay area junior cyclists will have this chance when 'Fast Freddie Rodriguez,' Emeryville's most famous cyclist, conducts a special session Feb. 17 using the revolutionary Multi-Rider indoor bicycle racing technology at Endurance Mill Valley.

Junior cyclists from the Northern California High School Mountain Bike Racing League and the Bay area's junior road racing league will attend this pre-Tour of California clinic.

Rodriguez, a three-time U.S. Pro Cycling champion, who has also won a stage of the legendary Giro d'Italia, the world's number two cycling stage race after the Tour de France, is a favorite to win the inaugural Tour of California beginning Feb. 19 in San Francisco. He will preview the upcoming tour and give motivational and training advice to the junior division cyclists.

The event begins at 2 p.m. with a motivational talk and training advice from Rodriguez. Racing begins at 2:30 p.m. with a series of 10-km races in which junior cyclists also will have a chance to ride alongside Fast Freddie.

The MultiRider system allows up to eight cyclists connected to a computer to race against each other on virtual bike courses.
