Welcome to the newsletter
Welcome to the first edition of the NAHBS Newsletter. Thanks for subscribing! These newsletters are designed to keep you up to date with news, views, and exciting event happenings as the March 2007 event draws near. Has your favorite builder registered yet...? Is there going to be a seminar on the use of eccentric bottom brackets vs. horizontal dropouts for single speeds...? Check the newsletter, it will tell you.

NAHBS Founder Don Walker speaks!
Hello! Firstly, my name is Don Walker. I am the founder of the North American Handmade Bicycle Show and I run this show with my wife, Lesley. I provide the vision and passion; she provides the business sense! Our show has grown by leaps and bounds almost overnight and we are pleased to bring you our first newsletter for the 2007 show.

I've never been as busy in my life as I've been this year! We were at Interbike this past September and we had a lot of great meetings and were able to square away some of our seminars and confirm some exhibitors as well. As of today, our list of exhibitors is up to 74 and we still have four months until the show. I expect well over 100 exhibitors to attend this show, making it the biggest and best gathering of its kind!

I look forward to seeing you in March, if not before!

Other events - Veloswap SF, November 18
Don Walker and some of the NAHBS crew will be heading out to The San Francisco VeloSwap, which is coming up on November 18, 2006. Swing by the NAHBS booth and check out the new "3rd Annual North American Handmade Bicycle Show" t-shirts, posters, and removable tattoos and get the latest info on this year's NAHBS straight from Don.

News about exhibitors
On Wednesday, November 1, Shimano confirmed that they will be exhibiting at the 3rd Annual NAHBS. We're welcoming them back for their second year and they are doing some cool stuff with their "Framebuilders Challenge" project. I look forward to seeing what they can do for the 07 show. Their return signifies a commitment to the small builders. Thanks Shimano!

Dario Pegoretti will fly all the way from Italy to showcase some Italian handcraftery. Since the days that he was building frames for some of Europe's top professionals, Pegoretti has been at the forefront of the handmade movement in Italy. Still a small 2 person shop, Dario has a loyal U.S. following for this exact reason.

You might have heard of builder Richard Sachs, who is the NAHBS "poster child" this year, is heading out from Connecticut. He's so good that there is now a five year backlog for his frames...

Inglis Cycles out of Napa, California, and Sycip Cycles out of Santa Rosa, California are a couple of the local-area builders returning to the show. Both companies were finalists in separate categories at NAHBS 2006.

Below is a list of some of the frame builders that have signed up recently and are new to the show this year:

Willits Brand Bicycles, Austin, TX

Dolce Cycles/Steve Boyd, Park City, UT

Peter Mooney Cycles, Belmont, MA

Innerlight Cycles/Kimo Tanaka, Davis, CA

Milano Sport/Greg Honn, Greenwich, CT (this is particularly interesting as Alberto Masi builds these frames and was rumored to want to visit the show as part of a vacation for his family.)

Hunter Cycles/Rick Hunter, Soquel, CA

El Camino Fab/Jason Grove, Emeryville, CA

Marschall Frameworks/Uwe Marschall, Germany

News for exhibitors
If you are already signed up to exhibit at NAHBS 2007 and haven't sent us your Bio and pics, please do so ASAP. We need these before Dec 15th in order to have them appear in our show magazine. You may also purchase space for advertising beyond your 1/3 page bio. Rates are extremely affordable and will be seen in 15k + magazines.

See you in San Jose!

About NAHBS
The North American Handmade Bicycle Show is not just another consumer show! This show is about the visionaries who build bicycle frames and components; the 'one-man factories' made up of individuals who design, engineer, weld, and paint. This show is also about the visionaries who buy; those who want a totally unique custom bicycle. Come to the show at the San Jose Convention Center, March 2-4, 2007
